A total of 2.16 million tons of goods worth $830 million were exported from Iran to Iraq via Parvizkhan Border Terminal during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-Feb. 19), registering a 40% and 100% rise in terms of weight and value respectively, according to Qasem Matlabi, a local customs official.
The exports included fruit and vegetable, dairy products, cakes and cookies, metal and plastic goods, tiles and ceramics, and construction materials, IRNA reported.
Imports during the same period via the terminal stood at $6.22 million, he added.
Parvizkhan shares 186 kilometers of borders with Iraq. Located in Qasr-e-Shirin County of the western Kermanshah Province, the border terminal accounts for around half of Iran’s non-oil annual exports to Iraq.
Iran’s exports from this terminal reached 2.53 million tons worth $1.02 billion in the last Iranian year (March 2021-22).
