Iraqi Forces Alliance, the largest Sunni bloc in the Iraqi parliament, is now attempting to attract the international attention to the on-going violence carried out by Shi'ite militias in which scores of civilians have been killed, injured or abducted.
Sunni MP Raad Dehilki said on Wednesday that his parliamentary bloc is working to pressure the parliament to intervene and immediately address the issue.
BasNews has learned that 25 Sunni MPs have signed a letter that was forwarded to the Parliament speaker, Salim al-Jabouri, on Wednesday, hoping that the Council of Representatives will discuss the "Shi'ite militia's violent actions" in a parliamentary session.
Since November 2015, some districts in Diyala and Salahddin provinces have become the setting for Shi'ite militia's violent actions in which Sunni Arabs and Kurds were targeted.
