The latest militia led-attack in Iraq has resulted in the wholesale destruction of the village of Albou Ajeel. The village, which lies south of Tikrit, is the latest in a long line of revenge-based attacks. Perpetrators, as named in the video below, included Al-Muqawama Al-Islamiyya and Kata’ib Al-Ghadab, the armed wing of Al-Da’wa Party.
These militias unleashed their wrath on civilian property, after accusing locals of harbouring individuals belonging to the Islamic state group. In fear of their lives, civilians fled to Hawija, Mosul, and other towns in the same vicinity.
The entire area, as the video shows, has been razed to the ground, after enduring heavy pounding from mortar shells. The area has also been completely emptied of civilians in what can only be described as ethnic cleansing of the village. Carscan be see completely burned out - and homes reduced to piles of rubble.
